Dear HNP Families,

We hope everyone had a restful Veterans Day weekend.  This was a nice break before the excitement and the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

Thank you to the Red Fish parents for attending your parent-teacher conferences last week.  We hope you found the conferences helpful.  Thank you in advance to the Blue Fish parents for attending your conferences this week.  Again, let us know if you are unable to attend or running late.  The staff will try to accommodate your schedule.

This week, there will be a slight change in our staffing.  Ms. Lucy will be a teacher in the Blue Fish room starting tomorrow.  She will join Ms. Liz, Ms. Jennie, Ms. Kristina, Ms. Sandra and Ms. Karen.  The Red Fish room will have Ms. Pilar, Ms. Ally, Ms. Marilu, Ms. Kathryn, Ms. Pauline, Ms. Ann and Ms. Chelsea.  We have a large staff because we want to be assured that all your children are given the attention and care they need.

There will be a sign-up sheet this week for bringing in food to our 6th annual Thanksgiving luncheon on Wednesday, Nov. 22nd at 11:15 am.  Thank you parents for always bringing in yummy and healthy foods!  There will also be Free Dress on that day!

Lastly, we would like to invite you all to our 1st annual HNP Gingerbread House Contest!  The rules are attached.  We hope your families will find the contest fun.  We can't wait to see the creations!

Dear HNP Families,

THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ANNETTE (ABIGAIL-RF) AND EVELYN (PENELOPE-RF) FOR CHAIRING THE PRESCHOOL FRIGHT FEST BOOTHS!  Thank you to their great committee of parent volunteers that prepared and worked our booths throughout the day on Saturday at the Fright Fest!  It was wonderful seeing our past, present and future preschool families on Saturday.  We hope everyone had fun!

On Tuesday, Oct. 24th, the Zoomobile will be in the RF room from 10:30 am-11:15 am and in the BF room from 11:15 am-12:00 pm.  The children are always fascinated with the animals that are featured.  We will also continue with our speech screenings on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Dear HNP Families,

Thank you for your understanding about the cancelled Pumpkin Patch field trip and the Fire Fighter's Presentation last week.  We offer our thoughts and prayers to our preschool families that have lost their family homes due to the North Bay fires.  There are many of you and we offer our deepest condolences.

Thank you to Paola and Steve (Giuseppe BF & Giada RF) and their generous efforts to bring needed supplies to the first responders and the families affected by the fires.  Our community has been so supportive in bringing in the needed supplies and several carloads of supplies have been already distributed to the victims!  (Please visit our FB page!)

This Tuesday, the church and the school community will hold a rosary vigil at the church at 6:00 pm.  We will be accepting donations for the families affected by the fires from 5:30 - 8:30 pm.  Thank you to Travis and Will (Sean (RF) for arranging for a truck pick-up and delivering the supplies.  We so deeply appreciate your help!  Attached is a list of the much needed supplies.

We will hold a Lifetouch make-up day on Thursday, Oct. 19th from 8:30-11:30 am.  If your child has not taken a photo, please have your child dressed in full-uniform.  For those who are doing re-takes, please bring in your original package.

Thank you so much to Annette (Abigail-RF) and Evelyn (Penelope-RF) for chairing the Preschool Fright Fest Preschool Booths!  They have done a fabulous job!  Please turn in your raffle tickets asap!  There are more raffle tickets available at the sign-in table.  Thank you to Michael and Bernice (Cameron-RF) for offering a private outing for 50 guests at Diddalidoo for the top raffle seller.    Yes, FREE DRESS this Friday, Oct. 20th.  Also, there will be many new preschool parents who will have their children enrolled for our 2018-2019 school-year attending the Fright Fest.  We always appreciate your hospitality to our new families!

October 9, 2017
Greetings HNP Families,

We hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend!  I'm sure the children will return with lots to say about all their activities this past weekend!

We also have a very busy week ahead of us! Tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 10th and Wednesday, Oct. 11th, all the children will be having a speech screening from 8:30 am-11:30 am.   As some of you may know, the preschool does an annual visual screening (Spring) and this has been helpful in detecting vision issues with some of our students.  The school has worked closely with a local speech studio, Bay Area Speech Studio  and one of their specialists-Shannon Oakes.  We have recommended her to several of our students in the past, and we find that the families have really enjoyed working with her and her colleagues.  We have also seen improvements in the students they have worked with.  I have enclosed their flyer as to what the screening will entail.  We are hoping all the students will be screened.  There will be a make-up day in the near future for those students that are out.  There is commonly a fee attached to the screening.  However, because the staff and I have seen the wonderful benefits of early screening for typical speech and language development, the preschool will absorb all the costs.

On Thursday, the SF Fire Department and the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation will offer presentations to educate our children on fire prevention and safety.  They will present to the RF at 9:15 am and the BF from 10:00 am-10:30 am.  We are also hoping for a fire engine to stop by at 9:45 am.

On Friday, the BF class will take a field trip to Clancy's Pumpkin Patch.  Thank you in advance to the parents who are chaperoning!

Thank you also to the Preschool Fright Fest Committee for all their preparations for our preschool booths for the Fright Fest next Saturday!

Have a wonderful week!

Blessings,
Alice & the Staff
