What are the school hours?
School starts for all students at 8:00AM every morning. Students are dismissed at 3:00PM each day except on Thursdays when they are dismissed at 2:30PM. Dismissal on the fourth Monday of every month is at 12:30PM.
Is extended care available?
Yes, we provide Extended Care before and after school. Morning care is provided from 7:00AM to 8:00 AM. After school care is provided from dismissal time each day until 6:00 PM. The monthly rate for Morning Care is $65.00, the monthly rate for Extended Care is $220.00.
How many students are in each classroom?
On average our classes are comprised of 30 students each. There is one teacher and at least one teacher's aide in all K-4 classrooms. We are also fortunate to have the regular help of parent volunteers. Our teacher-to-student ratios are as follows:
- Kindergarten - 1:10
- Grades 1-5 - 1:15
- Grades 6-8 - 1:25
How old does a child need to be in order to be accepted to kindergarten?
Students must be five years old by September 1st to be considered for acceptance.
How does one apply?
Applications may be picked up in person or printed from our website. The completed application is required for all applicants. Additional required documents include: Birth Certificate, Immunization Record, Baptismal Certificate (if Baptized), a picture of your child and recent report card and test scores for 2nd-8th grade applicants. An application fee of $50.00 is required at the same time. The fee is $75.00 after June 1st.
When will we be notified about the status of our kindergarten application?
Kindergarten screening begins in January. You will be contacted to schedule your child's testing date upon receipt of your completed application and required documents.
When will we be notified about the status of our application to other grades?
Application status for grades 1-8 will be handled on a first-come first-serve basis and all families will be individually informed of their status. Please contact the school office for an update.
What happens if I receive a letter of acceptance?
You will be given a deadline, approximately two weeks, to submit the appropriate fees to hold your child’s place. These fees are non-refundable. If you change your mind and do not send your child to the school for any reason, the fees are still non-refundable. If the office does not receive the fees to hold your child’s place by the stated deadline, the space will not be held and will be offered to another applicant.
What if my child has been put on the waiting list?
Because of the number of applicants, some children may be wait listed. Our experience has been that openings develop even up to the beginning of the school year. When that happens, we reconsider all the applicants on our waiting list.
How much is tuition and how is it paid?
Tuition for the 2013-2014 school year is $6,250 for participating families, and $7,250 for non-participating families. We offer a tuition reduction for siblings. Families may choose from three different tuition payment plans including the single payment plan, the semester payment plan or the standard, ten month payment plan.
